Boundless Online Publication

Hello everyone,

This is a test site for the new geography themed multi-disciplinary publication, which I have decided to call Boundless (thanks to Hannah for the suggestions that led me to this name). The name came along and so I set this up to start to make this publication into a reality. Hope you like the name :)

For those of you who don't know, Boundless is intended to be a multi-disciplinary online publication that revolves around geographical themes, such as space, place, connection etc. It will be open for students in any discipline to write for. It is my hope that this will make it a highly informative and diverse publication, yet one which promotes the benefits of thinking geographically. I hope it will be used for people to explore topics and issues within their disciplines and bring them to readers through geographical or international themes. As I am from UCL, 'London's Global University', I think it would be ideal to have a publication that reflected the true global nature of the work done in universities across the country and the world.

Please feel free to send me messages on Facebook with ideas for the site- I will be dedicating a fair amount of time after the 22nd May (last exam) to Boundless.

Please remember this is a test site. It is likely the actual site will be set up over the summer. Any suggestions you have I will try to add to this blog in order to get a picture of what the final site will look like. This is likely  to be the only effort I put into Boundless for a couple of weeks, however, as I have five exams for which to revise!

In addition if Karan and Jorge could get back to me confirming that they are still interested in being deputy editors (Jorge in particular). Please contact me on the email address below if you are willing to get more involved next year in helping to run the publication, particularly if you are good at setting up and maintaining websites.

Also if you are interested in writing and have not yet contacted me, please send me an email at reece.harris.11@ucl.ac.uk.

Also I'd like to thank everyone for their support in the past couple of months, and for the excellent advice.

Thanks for reading,

Reece Harris

  2. get your grammar right before you set up a 'semi-academic' publication:

This is likely to be the only effort I put into Boundless for a couple of weeks, however, as I have five exams to revise for!

    1. I acknowledge and thank you for your criticisms. As this is a test site, I would prefer suggestions on how to develop the site in terms of themes, colours, text, pages, layout, structure etc and general advice on subjects you might be interested in reading about.

    2. it was a criticism ... not 'criticisms' plural

you may need to look for an editor!

    3. Boundless already has two editors, myself and Karan. Another editor should be joining soon. If you want to get involved you're more than welcome- the contact details are up above. You seem to be particularly keen on grammar.
